I am stunned that I just became aware that John passed away last fall. It was such a pleasure meeting and working with him at the Ohioana Library. He was one of only six people to be accorded the title of Trustee Emeritus, honoring his outstanding service as a member of the Board and long-time Treasurer. My sincere condolences to Louise and all of John's family. - David Weaver, Director, Ohioana Library, Columbus

Dear Louise,
I found out from the Forte Christmas letter about John's passing. I will never forget that wonderful, welcoming smile of his that made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He was a very special man.

Dear Louise --
I just found out today about John's passing and was so sad to hear it. John was, like my father, one of the last true gentlemen. I have very fond memories of so many poetry readings, events, (long, boring) meetings, dinners and social occasions with John. I am glad to know he was at home. You were so lucky to have found each other and share a great love.

I always was delighted by his eclectic arrangement on his "art wall" and would look for new additions whenever I visited his Boat House apartment. I attended a few Poets League events, including one which featured a reading by a 1960's icon, that were creative, imaginative and thought-provoking--all inspired by, or made possible through, John's...
