Pleas accept my heartfelt sympathy to the Gabler family.

I played against John in the KC Overhand fast pitch softball tournaments back in the 1970's when my team finished runner up a couple of times to John's team known as Pokey's, Langford Collins, etc (all known as the Old timers.) He was the toughest out there was on those teams...pulling the ball sharply a few feet inside the first base line. A great 1st baseman as well. Also, a true sportsman. I admired his abilities and...

John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He made my life fuller for having known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I can still remember John throwing those big curve balls on the playground at Overland Park Grade School when we were young. He was a great person. My sincere sympathy to the family.
