Mag and family:

I am so sorry about John. I was looking through Augsburg alumni info online and I found out. I was at Augsburg when John was, and I went on an Outward Bound trip with Mag back in the '80's.

I am so sorry for your loss. RIP John, you were an inspiration to all disabled people, including me.

Until a few months ago, I hadn't seen John in probably 20 years. He didn't seem to have changed very much in that time; still beautiful in every sense of the word.
I am so sorry for this tragic loss of a husband, father, son, brother, mentor and friend.

Dear Maggie & Luke,
It is with great sadness that I think about you today -- the day of John's memorial service. What a wonderful man he was! What amazing times he, Maggie & I had in Lithuania -- the beginning of our long friendship. And Luke! You have inherited your father's vibrancy and curiousity. My heart goes out to you both. Labas, Dan Capouch now of Austin.

Maggie,
I simply cannot tell you how sad I am to hear the news of John's death. You two will always hold a special place in my heart...remember buying your house in Minneapolis from Paul and me? Oh my. It all started when I worked with John as he applied and was accepted here at Augsburg; we will always be proud to call him a graduate.
Please know that I will hold you, Luke and your whole family close in prayer. John's loss will be felt forever.

John was an inspiration and mentor to my adult children Jacob and Jaymie. I first met John at La Garita Ranch, where his enthusiasm for life was abundant. Every time I see an adaptive sports athlete smile I will think of John and his encouraging, Can-Do smile.
