John Harvey Garrison

John Harvey Garrison, 75, born Dec. 11, 1946. went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 in Wagener, S.C.

John was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served his country proudly. He enjoyed being a truck driver for many years. John loved to shoot and collect guns, as well as collecting silver. He loved all his critters.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Clayton Garrison and Mildred Sue Hill Garrison; sister, Thelma Jean Garrison; his late wife, Helen Juanita Garrison; and daughters, Billie Reed Clark, Kathy Fugate and Michelle Newman.

He leaves behind his brothers, Ernest E. Garrison and Jack B. Garrison both of Aiken, S.C., Billy E. (Wanda) Garrison of Loris, S.C., James D. (Virginia Showers) Garrison of Athens Tenn., daughters, Julie (Terry) Defore of Aiken, S.C., and Freda Litwin of Alaska; son, John Finch; grandyoungens, Gertie and Joe Thompson of Spring City, Sara (Heath) Reed of Evensville, along with 12 more grandyoungens; 25 great-grandyoungens; 11 great-great-grandyoungens; two aunts, Nancy Hill and Frances Scruggs; uncle, Joe Hill; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. John would like you all to be mean, ornery, hateful and discontent just like him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at Earle Church of God in Aiken, S.C. Interment will follow at Darien Baptist Church Cemetery in Aiken, S.C. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Friday at Earle Church of God.
