We are so saddened to hear of John,s death.A humanist, artist, man of the people and raconteur.
He touched our hearts in Portugal and Cornwall.
A big man in spirit and in deed.
The world is a poorer place without him

Shocked to hear of Johns passing from our common friend Craig Jones. Craig mentioned that there could be a celebration of John's life on 7th July. As a Nelson PO workmate I would love to be able to join you. I met up with him not too long ago at Riverside Community Cafe as well as at the Christmas lights in Titoki Place.

Many shared memories of a man who enriched our lives and many others. From paintings which captured the essence of New Zealand. To the warm and genuine welcome John extended to his friends. His concern and love for his family. Artist, fisherman, cook, gardener, chauffeur, ..the list is endless. Many a visiting tourist will have seen more of the South Island than they planned, including the magnificent horses coralled at Pancake rocks. Much loved, respected and mourned
