Dr. John F. GehretWilmington - Dr. John F. Gehret passed away peacefully at home on March 14th. He was a man that touched so many people in his 85 years, and not in a bad way. "Doctor John" personally delivered over 6,000 Delawareans, and practiced with his father, Andrew Martin Gehret as an...

Not sure what to say?

Dr. John delivered two of our three children. He was unable to deliver the first because he was abroad volunteering his time to a worthy cause, human need. He was in Columbia, if I remember right (it was a very long time ago.) I always smile when I remember him. Cheerful and positive, he was. I remember he and my husband standing on either side of me in the delivery room, talking about of all things, their golf game!!!! I had not been to a doctor who I liked and trusted as I did Dr. John...

As you remember your love one, as God heals your broken hearts (Psalm 147:3), may your treasured memories continue to bring you peace, comfort, and strength to endure.

I am sincerely sorry for your loss and my warmest condolences are extended to the family. God understands the comfort that we need when we lose a loved one. May you confide in Him always because His understanding is beyond measure. (Psalm 147:3)

My mother was fortunate enough to be a patient of Dr. Gehret's. He oversaw her care when she was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. I was a patient of Dr. Gehret's from 1974 until he retired from practicing. Dr. Gehret delivered my 3 children. His father delivered myself and my 2 sister's. I Will always have such found memories of Dr. Gehret. God Bless. Gretchen Yeager

So sorry to hear of Dr. Gehret's passing. His father delivered me 71 years ago and Dr. John Gehret delivered my daughter, 48 years ago. Prayers to the family.

My sincere condolences to Dr. Gehret and his family. I knew him from being his patient many years ago while residing in Wilmington. I continue to have the highest respect for him as he was a truly wonderful physician. Always, sincere, honest and humorous. I know he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Sending Blessings to all for comfort

My sincerest condolences to the Gehret Family for the loss of your loved one, John, and pray you find comfort in Psalms 91:2.

I was a classmate of John's brother Peter, whom we also called Acer. John being seven years older than his brother Peter meant that we didn't see much of him during our high school career at Friends. However the summer before our senior year, I was at Peter's house in Alapocus and John showed up. We of course were all thinking about which college we were going to go to. And of course colleges came up in our discussion with John. John told me I should seriously consider Williams, where...
