I just found out about Jack's passing after speaking with Stephanie Hartmann yesterday, 7/6/19. am so very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it has been for you and that Jack really suffered for the past few years. May he Rest In Peace.

Jack will be missed by so many and was loved by everyone. He was the best person I knew and the finest police officer any one of us could of worked along side of. He was ornery and funny and had the most infectious laugh. He had us all in stitches with some of the things he pulled. He is pain free and at peace now and he will be missed beyond measure. Rest in peace, my friend.

When I started the department Jack had many years on APD. Jack treated me and the other young officers at the time as equals, as if we were from the same academy class. He had a way of talking to any age group on the department and making them feel welcome. He was not only funny, but informative, compassionate, and friendly. I would light up when he walked in the room because I knew a great story was coming. Jack comes from a long line of police officers, detectives, attorneys, and...

Jack was beloved at the APD! A wonderful guy and mentor! As a young officer, he was someone you could go to, and he would give it to you straight, without feeling shredded! I think everyone has a Jack Gilbride story! He gave you a sense of friendship and belonging... and an amazing sense of humor! It is with great sadness, that I must offer condolences!
