I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I met John through business and would see him every couple of years, but would talk with him 2-3 times a year. He took interest (and pride!) in what his children were doing, and always asked about my daughter. My prayers are with you.

Words can not express how we are feeling over this tragic news. The passing of a fellow RHS alum is always difficult but John's passing is a tragedy and way too soon. May his friends and family find the strength to carry on.

I was sorry to read of John's passing in the Hartford Courant. John was a year ahead of me at Ridgefield High and we played baseball together for Coach Lanky. John's nickname was "Cookie," which I think was given to him by one of our teammates. Cookie Gilchrist was a former football player in the AFL.
