Not sure what to say?

When I interviewed John and Bill Brooks hired him we asked him do a couple of big things. He did them without fault and beyond our expectations. He may have been the oldest but never the last one picked when we played b'ball.

John was a true professional, and one who represented the very best in mankind. I never heard a swear word come from his mouth, nor a harsh word towards anyone. He represented the very best of everything, and it was an honor and a privilege to have known and worked with him. My prayers are with his family, and I am certain John is already doing God's work in heaven. Bruce Pearson, Captain - (retired CCSO)

I worked with John in the Clackamas County Jail and I always enjoyed his polite and courteous demeanor. He will be greatly missed by many current and former law enforcement personnel.

I enjoyed working with John during my time at CCSO. He was always so kind and always happy, never grumpy. He was a great asset to the department and you could always count on him.
My sympathy to the family.
Harriet Perigo - CSO retired CCSO

A great mentor to the young officers. He said fingerprints were like "mug shots" to him. I've seen him pull a print off a burglary scene and identify the burglar by looking at the lifted print. Always a gentleman and a GREAT Criminalist. The world was a better place when John was here. Jeff Barker
