John hired me as the Director of Student Services for Napa Unified when he was the Superintendent. Although I was only there 1 year, working with John affected my career in a very positive fashion. His work in Interest Based Bargaining influenced me greatly in my subsequent work in HR for several large school districts. I experienced great success with his methodology in bargaining. I met John during my first year of teaching, at Salvador Elementary in Napa. I will never forget that he came into my class and although I did not know who he was, he quietly and respectfully observed my instruction and then wrote a wonderful note to me before he left. From that day on, John inspired me to be a better person and to be the best teacher I could be. I will always remember his kindness and support. He made the world a better place.

Carol, Bronwyn and Amelia I want to share my last talk with John. I was in the Rite Aide parking lot a few months ago and we ran into each other. We caught up with our families and just enjoyed visiting. John was always such a gentleman and always so interested in how I was. This is how I will always remember him. We send you some good hugs.
