Not sure what to say?

So very sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with both John and Dee when I first started my career with the Commonwealth back in the mid-70's with the Department of Education. I will never forget either one of them. PDE has lost an true asset that can never be replaced. My prayers are with the family.

Deepest condolences to family and friends. I worked closely with John years ago and always respected his understanding, his calm approach and his willingness to listen. He was a real professional and will be missed.

Heartfelt apologies, prayers and sympathy for the Godlewski family. So MANY people here at PDE are in shock and truly saddened by John's passing. He was never too busy to greet and acknowledge the "little people" on the chain of command here at work. His sense of humor is sorely missed already! Please heed this beautiful poem by Rabindranath Tagore: " Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come. "
Sincerely, Mary Rollman PDE-BSE

Delores and family
We were so saddened to hear about the sudden loss of John. You are in our hearts and prayers. Mom was in the hospital when we gave her the news of his passing and it broke her heart for the sadness she felt for you and your children. I guess you heard we are saddened by her loss as she also passed away yesterday. She always thought the world of you and John as being wonderful neighbors. Now they can be neighbors in heaven. We pray that God may bless and comfort...

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I just learned of John's passing yesterday. He was the Secretary of Education's proxy to the State Public School Building Authority and Pennsylvania Higher Educational Facilities Authority Board of Directors when I worked there. John was someone I could turn to when in a crunch to get something done. Working with him was an honor and privilege. May your many memories of him help to sustain you through the difficult times.

Dear Dee, Matt, and Rebekah,
We were so saddened to hear of your loss. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I extend my sympathies to the entire Godlewski family. I had the privilege of working with John during my tenure with the Senate Appropriations Committee. He was the consummate professional and a wonderful individual. My conversations with John were motivated by everything from seeking perfunctory information to questions driven by a budgetary crisis. Whatever the circumstances, we always found the time to engage in small talk about families and current events. Since retiring my wife...

My deepest sympathies to the Godleski family. I have worked with John in various roles since the mid 70s and have been honored to work with him at the Pennsylvania Department of Education for many years. He will be missed both as a colleague and as a friend.

My deepest sympathies to the family on their loss. I have known John in various capacities since 1977 and had the honor and pleasure of working with him in the Department of Education. He was always a gentleman and a professional even in carrying out difficult and contentious tasks. I will miss him as a friend and colleague. My sincere sympathies.
