THE KRAWCHECK FAMILY HAS HAD YOU IN OUR PRAYERS AND WILL KEEP YOU THERE. OUR DAUGHTERS LOVED MR. GODWIN. HE WAS A WONDERFUL INFLUENCE IN THEIR LIVES. THEY ARE ALL GROWN NOW AND KNOW THE IMPACT A TEACHER AND FRIEND CAN HAVE ON ONES LIFE. MR GODWIN DID THAT AND THEY ARE FOREVER BLESSED BECAUSE OF HIM. .
GOD'S BLESSINGS TO HIS FAMILY

Mr. Godwin was both my principle at Simmons middle school as well as Hoover High. He had an impact on all of those under his guidence and wisdom, he took time out for anyone who needed it. He will be dearly missed by me as well as fellow students, past and current, as well as his teachers. I am truely sorry for you lose Mrs. Godwin, my thoughts and prayers will always be with you and Mr. Godwin. Thank you for allowing us his great presence in our lives.

My prayers are with the Godwin family. Mr. Godwin was an amazing principal and I will always remember the impact he left on my years at Hoover High School. He will always be remember as the wonderful man that he was. Things will not be the same at Hoover without hearing his funny jokes over the intercom or his scooter zipping through the halls. God bless Mr. Godwin and his family.

Mr. Gene Godwin was the 7th grade unit principal at Simmons Middle School when I was a teacher there. He taught me by example what it was to be a great teacher. My prayers are with his wife and daughter.

We'll miss you Mr. Godwin....You were a great modivator and probably the best principal we could have asked for.

Its a shame this happen to him being so young..Rest In Peace :(

Mr. Godwin was a great man. He was my principal when I was in 7th grade. I saw him periodically after that while I made my way through high school and college. The last time I saw him was at his daughter's college graduation and without hesitation he called me by my full name and asked me how I was doing. It is a sad day for the city of Hoover, students like myself that he made an impact on, and the future students who will not get to experience the presence of Mr. Godwin. To me, he'll always...

Dear Linda and Jeanie, Billy and I were so saddened to hear of Gene's untimely death. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope to see you at the funeral tomorrow. Love, Susan

My sympathy to the family of Mr. Godwin. He was a great principal and friend to some students.
