Jack was a wonderful friend. I met him on a cruise 9-11-11, we arrived in Bermuda to find out that the Twin Towers were under attack. I was so scared but he comforted me during that time that I was away from my family in San Diego. We remained friends until his passing. Yes, he was a gentle soul and a very giving person. I will miss him dearly. I will especially miss his jokes. He was a great guy. Rest in peace my dear one! Until we meet again...With much love, Liz from San Diego

Our most sincere sympathy to all of the Goetchius family. Jack & I were not only fire department brothers, but extended our relationship to our business adventures and our friendship. Jack will always be a part of our family. I will miss my buddy and hope he is resting peacefully and saving a place for me.

To The Family of John L. Goetchius
From what I read Mr. Goetchius was a man who valued life. God is the source of all life. How grateful we can be that God has us all in His memory and can call us back to mind. He purposes to do so. Your family can have faith in that promise. My sincere sympathy to all of you.

Jack was a gentle giant with a large heart. He loved his family and friends. He did many nice deeds for people without fanfare. I was lucky to have known him. Rest in Peace.

No young man could have had a better uncle; he showed us how a man could serve his county and community. He worked hard but could always find time to laugh. He kept the family traditions alive in his stories and made all of us stop and think twice about the important things in life.
I will miss you.
