Not sure what to say?

John was unique among my close friends at Kenyon College. His humor, openness and affection were a refuge for me. Though we went our separate ways, I think of him often, and it always puts a smile on my face. Though sad he has moved on, I'm heartened to learn that he brought much joy to his family and all who knew him. I will continue to think fondly of John every time I recall those golden school years, ride a coaster, ... or reach for a Bandaid!

I did not realize that John had died until today, when a holiday card I sent him in December was returned to me with the notation that the Postal Service had no forwarding address.

I had the good fortune of knowing John when I lived in Harrisburg in the 1990s and have kept up with him ever since.

I extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. I will miss John very much.

Jim and family,
I just read of John's passing and was so shocked and saddened... I went to high school and spent more than a few times at the Goldsmith home for high school parties!... Also a friend of John's as we were in homeroom together with the good old East High Band/Bandfront!... He was a funny guy and I will always have fond memories of those good old days... Thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sorrowful time....

My heart aches for our loss. John you were the best! Even if you were cheap & could squeeze more out of your dollars than I could ever imagine!
I miss you. Thanks for "holding Court," like no other..xo

It was such a pleasure knowing John while I lived in downtown Harrisburg. He was a neighbor and good friend, always quick with a witty comment and continually, perpetually a fountain of energy and fun. John always, always made us laugh, and how many people can we say that about? When I moved back to New York City, John would come up to visit and stay with me, and I remember riotous dinners with him in Chinatown where he just cracked us all up. My friends adored him, as did I. He will be so...

Sorry to hear about John , his legendary character will live forever in our hearts
