John A. Gormley

GORMLEY, JOHN A. John A. Gormley, 88, of Old Saybrook and Jacksonville, FL, passed away November 13, 2012. He was born April 22, 1924 in Northern Ireland. He is the son of Patrick and Brigid (McCullagh) Gormley. John is preceded in death by parents, wife Sarah (Madden) Gormley, son, Kieran Gormley and brothers, Peter and Patrick Gormley. He is survived by children; Damian Gormley, Lisbon, Maine, Sean Gormley and his wife AnnChristine of Mamaroneck, NY, Roisin Hitchingham and her husband Tom of Jacksonville, FL, Imelda Koptonak and her husband John of Old Lyme, Eamon Gormley of Panama City, FL, Granya Gormley of Austin, TX, grandchildren; Bryn Gormley, Talynn Bennett and her husband Lou, Patricia Gormley, Patrick Gormley and his wife Nicole, Aidan Hitchingham, Connor Hitchingham, Erin Hitchingham, Sophia Gormley, Olivia Gormley, great grandchildren; Camrynn Bennett and Patrick Kieran Gormley. John is also survived by sisters, Sally McConnell, Peggy Fogarty, and Maureen Masterson, brothers, Lawrence Gormley and his wife Jackie, Dan Gormley and his wife Moira and Michael Gormley. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, November 16, 2012 and Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Saturday at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Old Saybrook with Committal to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
