Not sure what to say?

John and I shared an office in the state capital d was totally responsible for my 35 years as a senator. We spent money hours together traveling to and from Madison by car and his plane. He even let me fly it. John was a good friend with a big heart

My dearest John, it's been 10 years since you left for Heaven. Love you more! Miss you!

So sorry Larae to read of Johns passing.I worked on his 1962 Assembly campaign. We had a grand time, learned lots, lost and were friends ever since, even tho we hadn't seen each other since one of the last "old friends" reunions. His hearty laugh will be a fond memory.

Lara, my condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. My prayers are with you.

The Parting Glass

Of all the money e'er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm I've ever done,
Alas! it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit
To mem'ry now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Oh, of all the comrades e'er I had,
They're sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had,
They'd wish me one more day to stay,
But...

I have fond memories of John sitting at our kitchen table debating/discussing many a campaign strategy with my parents. Now that they've all been reunited, I imagine they've picked up right where they left off! May joyful memories lighten your hearts.

John
Every time we traveled you always stated "Everything goes thru Kankakee" and true to your word it did!
God be with you on your travels.

Heather, Melissa and David. I have thought of you often and my memories with your Dad in Sister Bay and those recollections always make me smile. I am hoping to send you some comfort. Strike that! I am hoping to send you some love!

"My condolences to John's family. I have only known John for about 10 years. During that time he always had a smile, and some words of wisdom. I truly will miss his sharp wit and pragmatic approach to life's various situations."
