Trusted neighbor of our family, lived behind the Grants. When I enlisted in the Navy, 1973, Johnny visited recruiter (to ensure was treated with honesty) with me at the Sandtown post office. Fair winds and following seas friend and veteran shipmate.

I ran into John while I was stationed Great Lakes. I had to show him my ID card to prove to him who I was. We got together a couple of times to chat and then again on a flight from Norfolk to Cleveland many, many years ago. Nice guy... Rest in Heaven John...

I last spoke with Johnny, as we called him, about four years ago. He was suppose to attend our 50th class reunion. I never heard from him as to why he was unable to attend, but was sad that we did not get to reunite. He was always full of energy and I have good memories from high school of John. May he rest in peace.
