I Salute My Favorite Uncle, John Vernon Green. As a Christian he was not perfect but in my heart and eyes he came darn close many times! He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many who worked tirelessly to accomplish the betterment for mankind. His many listed attributes speak volumes. If I ever found myself overwhelmed and couldn't reach my daddy it was he that I knew I could go to and did many times. I grew up "attached at the hip" with his youngest daughter, Janet and oldest daughter Mandy. Much of his life he was away in the Military and my Aunt Jane provided us with her wisdom and love. Often times we would stay at my home along with my brothers and my parents would then become the ones to fill us with love and wisdom (not that we always listened..... But we did eventually learn):) He touched the lives of so many and we will all miss him dearly but make no mistake; his shell may remain on Gods Earth but his Soul IS In Heaven and he is with us all until we meet again. I Love and Miss You Dearly, Your Niece. Sabrina Greene FitzSimons

Vernon was the consummate southern gentleman, who always sought the best in himself and looked for it in others. It was an honor to have known him, served with him and to have been mentored by him. He is now with the angels, his fellow airmen and God. Bob Silverthorn, MG(Ret), USA, Louisville, KY

Chairman Green was truly one of a kind. He was one of the very few people I have personally known that would treat a janitor and military General the same. He was like a surrogate father to me who I admired and trusted immensely.
Sheila and I offer our condolences and congratulations for a life that made a tangible difference for so many.
