Not sure what to say?

Was going through some old files last weekend and found some photos of a two week Asian road show trip I took with John in summer 2009. I didn't know him well before that but over the course of two weeks, I developed an admiration for the man not just for his vast knowledge on many different things but for how he approached his life with an immense sense spirit and zeal which was infectious to those around him . John truly "wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life". God speed...

Bummed to hear this news.
Worked with John and took him to the 2001 SB with Pats and Rams. Great times....stand up guy and fun to be around. RIP my friend.

As an ex EMC colleague, John was always a very helpful, very kind and very knowledgeable team mate. I will never forget the mini-Manhattan tour he gave me in 1997! I know he is in a good place now but probably still telling his magical SRDF story!

John was simply a terrific guy. Larger than life. He had the fastest retorts to any comment that I have witnessed from a human being. He made a powerful difference to EMC and always had your back. John, thank you for all the fun, and insight, you shared with people. Rest in peace.

Hannover, Germany, 2009

John was a traveller. He made many journeys around the world for EMC. I met him not only at customers but also on the Oktoberfest in Munich and at the pyramides in Egypt. And we always had fun. I am sad that John now has started his last journey. I will miss him, but I am sure those he meets will have fun when he arrives. That was certainly true when he was here with us.

A terrific guy, John took me under his wings when I started at EMC in 1997 in the role of BC/DR. I did many briefings and road shows with John and I learned much from him on caring about the customer, listening and problem solving. His wit and great sense of humor were priceless. My deepest sympathies to John's family. He will be missed but I am sure he has the angels in laughter as he did with us.

I knew and worked with John for over 20 years. I join the legion of mainframers that will sort miss his wit, toughness and terrific sense of humor. He was the spirit and driving force for all of us! God bless him and his family.

John could light up any room with laughter!
