Not sure what to say?

It is impossible for me to imagine or believe that John is gone. He is such a strong presence in my memory and was and is still a great influence in my life.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will miss you and your playful personality, always smiling and brightening up a room. Rest in peace, John.

We will never forgett him, our last visit was last year and it was fun as allways - a lovely day in the Morton Arboretum. He was a good friend and Jeanette's "uncle John".

I knew John from our days starting in Mrs Pradens nursery school in downtown Flossmoor. Always a cheerful kid and a good playmate. He ended up coming to the U of I in Champaign when we were in college. Enjoued seeing John at our 60th lunch a few years ago and taking sailboat rides with Al Inwood the past few summers. Very creative fellow and will be missed for his humor and goodwill.

I knew John from nursery school on through all of our ups and downs. What a wonderful, happy, kind soul he was, and such a loyal best friend. The world was better for his great, good humor; someone who touched so many people with his happy spirit.

John is my best friend who will remain in my heart forever. Great humor and lover of Pat and his kids and grandkids and his friends and poetry and storytelling and singing and sailing (photo on his beloved Dover) and the Cubs and societal justice.

John ("Juancho" as he was known in Colombia) was one of the most entertaining people I've known in my more than 80 years on this earth. We first met in Magangue, Colombia in 1965 when he was a Peace Corps Volunteer. I was his supervisor but we were the same age and became life-long friends. A remarkable person who helped bring a lot of humor and joy to our world. Always remembered, never forgotten!
