John C. Grieser Jr.

Mr. John C. Grieser Jr., of Clinton, CT died at age 79 in Branford, CT on Sunday, November 9, 2008. A retired teacher, he lived his life peacefully in Clinton, CT. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1964 and he worked in the Guilford School District for 28 years. He served three years in the U. S. Army before becoming a teacher.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, John and Vera Grieser, as well as his sister, Vera Wellington. He is survived by two nieces, Vera Longe and her partner Charlie Hawkins of Lyndonville, Vt, Carol Wellington of Vernon, CT and nephew, Eric Wellington and his wife Laura of Tolland, CT. He is survived by five great nieces and nephews. Andrea Longe and her family of Jeffersonville, Vt, Christie Findlay and her family of Monson, MA, Nichole Findlay and her family of MA, Brain Findlay of Brimfield, Ma and Tyler Wellington of Tolland, Ct.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 1:00 P. M. at the graveside, in St. Albans Bay Cemetery, Lake Road, St. Albans, Vt. Pastor Herman Benjamin, from St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, will officiate. Full military honors will follow the service. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, Ct 06405. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
