From a Troy High and RPI classmate and lacrosse teammate

Thank you , Mark, for sponsoring this. And thank you, Phil, for your message. Shared memories and love live on.

I remember so well those days as Troy High School classmates and RPI classmates, especially playing lacrosse. And we kept in touch over the years by annual cards.

My sympathies to Wendy, whom I had the pleasure to meet at your Brunswick Road home in 1995; and to Jim, who was two years ahead of John and me at Troy High School. John and I played lacrosse together for two years in high school and four years at RPI; and we were fraternity brothers at Theta Chi. While sparated by distance, we stayed in contact annually, and remained great friends for almost 60 years. His last note in 2005 congratulated me for recovery from my own illess. I'll try to...

Our most heartfelt condolonces to the entire Griffis family. I was indeed lucky to have met Mr. Griffis in Rome and will always remember him fondly..."In boca al lupo" Papa John.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Griffis family. At RPI, I remember John as a friendly and enthusiastic classmate and a great athlete. I always enjoyed his company.

Willy (Class of 1955)

Our deepest condolences on the loss of a fine man. Norm (class of 1955, RPI, remembers John well with great respect. Bette (Heffron)remembers John as a student and athlete at Troy High School.

With our sympathy,

He will be deeply missed by all those who had a chance to know him and of him. He lived a full life and has had incredible personal and professional accomplishment in the US and Abroad and was in true character until the end. I was blessed to have the opportunity to be with him just days before his death and I was in awe that he maintained his sense of humor and his unique outlook on life not withstanding his weakened state.

My love and support goes to Wendy his wife and partner...

Wendy and the family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I loved John very much and only have great memories that will last forever.
