John Griswold

Lived around the corner on Hamden. My mom was friends with the family. Remember when Browny, their family dog bit my brother because he was jealous Walter was playing with him. Was just a kid but was crazy about Johnny till he married and broke my heart. Met him again years later at the shop in Rosebank. Rest in peace Johnny. Fond memories of the entire Hunter Ave family.

John is older than me, but I remember him and Walter fondly. Buddy and Mrs Griswold were good friends of my mom. Hope they are all having a coke at Rispoli's.

We are Stevie´s Philly family, although we didn´t know John personally all the stories Stevie shared made us feel like we knew him forever. Stevie would share stories of childhood, lessons learned, the love John had for all, respect for those in need and most of all John´s love and commitment to his family. May these great memories help you through this sad time.

He was a good man, I knew him from the job. He was a native Islander and a real old school gentleman. Rest in Peace.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

The viewing is at Hanley Funeral Home, Friday, September 12, 2025, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Mass is Saturday, September 13, at Our Lady Star of the Sea.
