I personally knew John (Gunny as I called him) a short time. In that short time I enjoyed my talks with him about his days in the Marines and his days playing ball and our love for the Dallas Cowboys. I give my deepest sympathy to his Daughters (Vicky) and family. I also would like to express my sympathy to Lori his companion.

My memories of Uncle John are thin as we did not spend much time together. I recall a vibrant, talented man who achieved much on the softball diamond. He seemed to be a genuine nice man who the few times I was in his presence as a kid and young adult he was very kind toward me. Uncle John's mother was my step-grandmother who I spent much time with and do miss. My deep condolences to his family and may in peace.Bill Leiner Jr.

Lorrie, I am so sorry for your loss. Will always remember the fun, love, and laughter that we had. As I write this I can hear John yelling 'Larry, Larry' as loud as he could. And of course we all laughed non-stop. You provided so much joy to his life and took such good care of him. Always cherish you memories. Will never forget you, John, RIP Love you forever Lorrie Condolences to the rest of John family. Donna B

My condolences to the family and Lori. I know he is going to be missed. He was a great guy. Lori and John were like two kids again. I know he appreciated the time together and all Lori has done during his illness. God Bless you during this time.

Lori, I'm so sorry to learn of John's passing. I'll always remember all the fun times and laughs we shared at the VFW. John was a true original. I must say that he seemed so much happier the past several years since you became the focus of his affection. It was obvious that the two of you were made for each other. All of us at the club miss you both and I hope you stop in to see us. Please pass my regards on to John's family as well. I hope they feel some comfort knowing how much you meant to...
