I attended Highland High and graduated in 1970. I was the Sterling Scholar in Industrial Arts that year. I have very fond memories of Mr. Gunderson and will always remember him for the many things he taught me. He was a wonderful person and teacher. Jim Watts

I am so sorry to hear of the death of "Jack" Gundersen. Our family always called him Jack. I lived down. the street from him on Gundersen Lane for years. Fondly remembering my Uncle Jack.... Growing up, our only telephone was on a kitchen wall. I remember so many times that phone ringing, and my dad would answer. When it was his little brother Jack on the line, my dad would always have the same greeting. "Hello... waddya say, Jack?" My dad has been gone for over 35 years. I loved Uncle Jack. I have such fond memories of taking violin lessons from Aunt Betty in high school. Uncle Jack would always sit on the couch and say encouraging things while I struggled through scales. I remember he and Betty lent me materials about Norway to do a report in 6th grade. I remember how comforting it was to know they were in their Viking ship house watching over Gundersen Lane and our family´s legacy. He was there at my own father´s funeral 2 years ago.
