I sure wish I could have spent more time with my uncle but I remember that no matter where we went his personality and shear kindness was as "big as a moose "as a kid he and aunt Susan dressed me up in a tux and brought me to the Grappone Banquet just so many memories from the small amount of time I spent with them will always remain with me ,you´ll always be in my heart uncle John

I played music with John both in the Freese Brothers Big Band and at many smaller jam sessions over the past decade. I also had the privilege of meeting his wife Susan before her devastating illness. I enjoyed hearing his stories about his experiences in military bands and shared musical jokes as we frequently went out to dinner after rehearsals. John didn't like to call attention to himself but worked behind the scenes to make life better for everyone he met. He helped me on more than...

John Gunther was an active member of the Center Harbor Town Band. His presence in the band as a solid trombone player was exemplary! He will be sorely missed! Thank you John for your dedication to music!
