Not sure what to say?

Oh my goodness I just learned about Jon's passing. I moved to Austin 26 years ago. I always loved going in the Ivy House to visit with John. I have to say he was a huge draw for purchasing gifts of crystal and China at the Ivy House. John was knowledgeable. I am so very sad. My memory was that he was always so very "Happy". Everyone will and does miss John.

John and I also became friends while we were both working at the library, and remained friends for many years. Along with other outings, John, Everett, and I loved to go to South Haven in Everett´s Mustang convertible. I never laughed so much as when I was with them! My parents were often thrown by their unique humor, but they also loved it when the Guy guys came over. Have never found companions that compared with them when it came to loyalty and having fun. After John moved to Texas, I...

Dear John. I am so sorry to finally find out so late that you have left us. You were a dear friend to me in our KPL days together. I have happy memories of times with you, some including Everett, some at my home, and some at yours. I still have the beautiful glass jewel box you gave me for Christmas. It is a constant reminder of you. Good by. You will never be forgotten. Carol

John Guy worked at Washington Square Library in Kalamazoo where my family regularly visited. As a result, my father, owner of Bouwens Furniture, hired John and started a decades long friendship. John flourished in the humble store where he brought exciting new ideas of design that my father never would have thought of. John contributed his intelligence, thoughtfulness and enthusiasm to our family business and I will always remember him for it.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Dear John was the most colorful, funny and sweet friend. He had total devotion and caring love to his husband, our dearest friend James. We will miss him deeply and always remember him with much fondness.

John was my friend for over 50 years. I’ll miss hearing his laugh for the rest of my life.

John was a friend who made any gathering fun. He could laugh at himself and always provide a word of cheer for others. He was kind and caring to me and my children. Rest in peace, dear John.

I'm so sorry to learn of John's passing. We worked together at Kalamazoo Public Library many years ago. He was fun, smart, perceptive, a true gentleman. He's been gone from Kalamazoo for many years, but I never forgot him, and will always hold a place in my heart for dear John. Rest in Peace, John Guy.
