Not sure what to say?

Suzette, Colin and Connor, and family,

I only learned today from Prof Bill Kingston (TCD) that John passed away during 2014. You may recall that John and I became great friends during the year he spent as a Fulbright scholar at Trinity Business School. I was a young faculty member at the time and lived on campus a couple of apartments away from John. We spent a wonderful year visiting Dublin pubs, cinemas, and theatre, and we ate together on average three time per week.

I just today learned of John's death and I am so sorry to know. He was a terrific man to be around and a good friend. My condolences to Suzette and the family

I came to know John through my work in International Education. He was an amazing mentor, teacher and colleague always interested in helping everyone he worked with. His advice will always be a part of the work we do in the future. His memory will live on in our work yet we will also miss him deeply.

John was a larger than life presence. I count myself lucky to have met him. My heart aches for your loss Suzette. Please know that you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My prayers for you & your family. We love you. Emily

Colin and Jennie, Connor and Emma, Suzette and family... know our hearts are aching with you, but we also join you in celebrating a life well lived. Much love and care, The Harper Clan, your Montana Family

A remarkable man. So glad my family was able to know him and call him our friend. We will miss him.

I really did not know John that well. But, the day we came to your house in Fairhope, he made my husband and me feel so very special, as if we were the only guest there. John was a beautiful man, inside and out and the best part of that was that it shown in his face and his actions. The love he had for you, Suzette, just radiated throughout. There is no doubt how much you both loved each other. I am so sorry for your loss but, I am so glad you have all these beautiful memories. God bless...

Suzette- Praying for you and your family.
