Not sure what to say?

Well its been a while since I've been here to this memory of my friend John. I often remember John who helped shape the lives of people he came into contact with, even if he just inadvertently became a mentor to wayward people. I learned many things from John over the 30 plus years that I knew him, and I am grateful for the opportunities that he afforded me. There is no doubt that he set me on a path to where I am today and I thank John for that.

I met John in 1988 in Hollywood, CA.
He was a very honest person who always had the right mindset on how he should live his life. Thru the years he was always easy to talk to.
I will miss our conversations, and Gin Rummy games until the wee hours of the morning. R.I.P John.

I remember Professor Halperin as a very pleasant, kind and highly knowledgeable...

I feel very sorry about the passing of John Halperin. He was a very valuable mentor to me and at one point a dear friend. My heartfelt condolences to those he left behind. Serena Anderlini

I am so distraught having just learned of my UNH roommate's death. John was a wonderful person with a terrific ability to laugh. I will miss truly miss him. David Hubler

Happy Birthday Uncle John! I miss you very much and love you even more.

Thank you all SO much! David Halperin

Professor John Halperin was my friend for about thirty-five years. We worked together in Vanderbilt University's English Department, he as a respected Professor of English and I as his secretary. I enjoyed assisting John in his academic activities (both at Vandy and after he retired to LaJolla). His work was so interesting, and he was invariably appreciative and supportive. I loved that he never talked "down" to me, but rather he would ask my advice and many times go along with my...
