Our thoughts and prayers are with the Harkness family. Steve has fond memories of working with John in the logging. He was a wonderful person. He touched many lives. It is wonderful to know that we will see him again someday.

The more I think of Grandpa and the many memories of my times with him I must correct that he called pancakes hotcakes :) yes it is very clear to me now...Love ya Grandpa.

My grandfather was a wonderful man, a man to be admired and looked up to. I took for granted I would see him "real soon" and then time just got away from me...how I wish I could have that one more chance to hug his stocky body and hear his soft spoken voice...and to eat his pancakes in the morning...they were darker than I liked but I always ate them because he said, with a smile on his face, that is the way a real flapjack should be.
