To Jan and family, I have such fond memories of your Dad and Mom from my days at KU when I first attended First Christian Church. They were like second parents to many of us college students who attended. I remember how much the older members of FCC embraced the youth and made us feel welcome. John was a wonderful man and a great architect. Ray and I drew on a restaurant napkin the house we wanted to build and John transformed our napkin into plans for a beautiful home. I am forever grateful and will never forget him.

When I first started in the Choir at First Christian, my mother told me to 'just follow John--he'll help you figure it out'. And helped me he did, as he and Janie did so many times in the years that I knew him. He was always available for comfort and direction. He was a caring man, the kind of which we no longer find--kind,true,and honest. Heaven has a new guide for those who've lost their way.
