I met John through his work at the NW Council. He went on to write the foreword to my book. We also led tours of the Mona Bell and Bonneville Dam sites for the Friends of the Columbia River Gorge. John was always eager to share a kind neighborly word when we met in our adjoining yards or out walking. His love for his family was unmistakable as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
