Not sure what to say?

Helen and the Hartman family,
Jim and I were honored to know your husband. We remember his twinkle in his eyes when telling a story and laughing. He loved his family very much. He'll remind me to keep family in your heart and enjoy life. Get up and do something...not just sit there saying whoa is me. He will not be forgotten by Jim and I or by our girls; Amy, Karen and Christi. God Bless you and the Hartman families.

Dear Philly Hartman's, we just heard about John's death down here in Texas. Some of us would have been there had we known. He and Frankie Hartman (our dad) would sit for hours and talk of their school days with extreme enthusium. We cherish John's many visits to Texas and send our dearest sympathy. Marianne Hartman Robards (Keller, Texas)

John will be deeply missed. May the many fond memories help during this time of loss...some of my favorites are the times spent at the beach in Avalon when Joshua and Jennifer were little, John demonstrating how to body surf and wave jump, being introduced to eating shark, and the stories of John reorganizing the kitchen when Helen was away visiting friends and relatives that was more "efficient" for him. May there be more smiles than tears in rememberance!- Teresa, Joshua, and Jennifer Raymond

Dear Helen,

It is a custom that I attend the funerals of the alumni of St. Joseph's Prep. They actually console me because our grads die as saints and it gives me some hope for myself and the present generation of Prep boys.

But, alas, I am unable to attend John's funeral and offer my condolences in person. Tomorrow is our board meeting.

We will, however, celebrate Mass for John in the student chapel tomorrow.

Mim,
May your memories always keep your dad alive in your heart. You were truly blessed to have your father for all those wonderful years. We know you will still miss him, but remember he is in a better place now. God is with you during this time and always.
Love ya, Doreen & Jim

Pop Hartman loved his family very much.
I have a quote that I think he would agree with... "I don't want anyone of you to use my death as an excuse for anything but motivation for everything".
He will be missed but not forgotten,
Jim and Mary Bleakly
