Not sure what to say?

I consider Jack to be one of my very best friends. He and I worked together at Hershey High School for 33 years. He taught my son David, not only in the classroom, but on the athletic field, and in many of Jack's HHH Productions. He and I worked together on many projects both in and outside of school. I will miss him very much. I am honored to have been his friend.

Dear John, Jody and family, I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was a great person! I will always remember the great times in Canada and the smell of his cigar!! He will be missed. Sincerely, Libby Moyer

Jack was an outstanding educator who encouraged all students to be successful. HHS productions were always exceptional. He will be missed .

I considered Jack a friend while working with him at HHS! He loved his family, his politics and the students! Few knew how often he helped a new entrant to Hershey get involved in an activity so that they felt like they belonged there. His passion for his work, willingness to listen, and readiness to help are definitive of Jack! RIP

I was so lucky to have met and been a student of Mr. Hartman's. Working with him on musicals made high school a very enjoyable time. Any time I listen to the "Last of the Mohicans" soundtrack I think of him and how he would let us play the music very LOUD in the auditorium... and I smile. My thoughts are with John and Jody and their family. Thanks for sharing your dad with all of us!

Many fond memories of Coach Hartman... cracking jokes with the pitchers and catchers, hitting infield with a that long fungo bat, teaching us the finer points of friction on an air table in physics class, and giving lessons on pulling the curtains on the stage crew for "The King and I". His legend will live forever at Hershey High School. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

I was sorry to hear about Mr. Hartman's passing. He was a great teacher and leader for the high school plays for as long as I can remember when I was in school and then my kids having him as well. He will surely be missed.

We were so sorry to hear of Jack's sudden passing. We will always remember him as "The Mayor" from the Contrary Club. He loved to cook for his campmates and had a wry sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by his friends here in Canada.

We the graduates of LHS Class of 1961 will miss Jack - Sorry for his passing
