John Edward Hartnett

Dear Hartnett Family,
I am one of Danny's fraternity brothers from the University of Illinois. I know how much family meant to Dan, and how much he loved and respected his Father. When I saw the picture and notice in the Chicago Tribune, I thought about how much the two of them are going to enjoy being together again. I know Mr. Hartnett's passing is a great loss to you and your extended family, for which I extend heartfelt sympathy and prayers on behalf of myself and my family. Peace...

Dear Hartnett Family:
Mr. Hartnett's passing has brought back memories for me from over 20 years ago. I was Danny's roomate in college -- my fraternity brothers and I shared with you his passing almost 23 years ago. I knew of his respect for his father, and used to hear stories about Mr. Hartnett while Danny was growing up.

One very clear memory was the support of the CPD during that difficult time, an obvious tribute to Mr. Hartnett. My condolences to all of you.

Dear Mrs. Hartnett-

I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Hartnett's passing. Plese accept my sincere sympathy and prayers for your loss. My fondest memory of Mr. Hartnett was during childhood years ago at the old Chicago Fest at Navy Pier. We celebrated Danny's birthday with Mr. Harnett, Matt, John Bourke and some of the boys from Edgebrook back stage at the Frank Sinatra concert. We had a ball but the high light for me was riding with Mr. Hartnett in the patrol car all night.
