Once, when Judge Hatzenbuhler was handling Small Claims court in Concord, I took my two young children in to observe. When Judge Hatzenbuhler saw that they were there to observe he brought them both up to sit in the witness chair. He asked them if they knew that the court was a place to resolve differences.
