Not sure what to say?

John was one of *the* "go to guys" for deep technical Tandem software knowledge. Many times during my work as a Guardian software support specialist, he lent me a helping hand, quickly resolving any problem encountered. He was a good friend, a genuinely good person, and I miss him still. A lot.

The world is less of a place because of John's passing.

He was so bright and so patient and willing to help with a question. Kind and gracious, always a consummate professional and great representation for Tandem Computers and HP. So sorry to hear about this.

Special prayers go out to him and his family.

He will truly be missed.

John, I miss you, buddy. I can't add much to the tributes already expressed. I can only say that the NonStop SQL world has lost a bright star, and you were my good friend for many years.

I am proud to have had the privilege of knowing and working with people like John, and I am sad that he's gone. I wish I could offer John's family more than my sincere condolences. I was stunned to learn of John's passing and I would like to offer my condolences to his family. I worked for John when he was the Analyst Manager in Houston and with John for many other years. He was tecnically brilliant and he held himself and those that worked with him to the highest possible technical standards. That wasn't always easy but it made me much better than I otherwise would have been. I'm proud to have known and worked with John.

Ciao Giovanni.

John was a brilliant man, the Tandem community will miss his many talents. I thoroughly enjoyed working with John at Intrado. He was a great mentor.

Anyone reading this will have known John, and all know that through adversity he always had a story, a smile, and optimism. Goodbye, ol' friend.

To the family of John Haverland: We don't always have to know a family to have empathy for them when they lose a loved one in death. I wish to express my condolences as you endure this great loss. Also, our loving heavenly Father is the "God of all comfort" and he can and will help you through this difficult period because "he cares for you".
