John was a fixture in Cranford for years. He gave of himself to the First Aid Squead and many other worthy causes. So sorry to learn of his passing.

Mr. Hawks was a kind gentle giant. He was always ready to assist in any way he could. I was blessed to be associated with him through the board of elections where we worked many days at Barlow School while Emerson was being rebuilt and he always made the coffee run. We missed him yesterday and will continue to keep his family in our prayers. Board workers at 1-2; 1-4; and 1-6
