Not sure what to say?

I knew John back in 1976 when I worked PT in the circulation department. He was a classic news executive and a gentleman. I still have the trunk he gave me when I scooted off to USC in Columbia that same year. You will be missed. Mark Brittman

I always will have special memories of Mr Heath. He was a boss but he was always very personable and cared about you in your personal life. He had a very distinctive laugh. I remember years ago when I was in the hospital for a few days and he came to visit not once but twice, not many bosses would do that. You will be missed!

Gary and I both have wonderful memories of Mr Heath. Starting with the many years I worked for him, right up until the last storm when Gary helped him board up his windows. He will be missed.

John Heath was publisher when I started my daily newspaper career at The Beaufort Gazette in 1982. He was a gentleman and first-rate newspaperman, and won't be forgotten by those who worked for him. May he rest in peace.

May The Angels Lead You Into Paradise.

One of my favorite coming home from Chapel Hill moments in the early to late 90's was meeting up with Mr. Heath and talking about the Heels and Cubbies. I am glad Mr. Heath went out a World Series and NCAA Basketball Champion. He was a great friend to our family, and especially to my Dad, Gary. Say "hello" to Rick and Stewbee for us Mr. Heath. Go Heels!

I only got to work with Mr. Heath for about a year before he retired. He was great to work with. He taught a lot of us to be real journalists. He will be missed.

Goodbye Mr. Heath. I will always remember working with you at The Beaufort Gazette.

Our family has many wonderful memories of John, as he was our beloved neighbor in Ashdale. He was also my first boss in Beaufort at The Beaufort Gazette. We will miss him greatly.
