It was my honor and privilege to know Mr. Heimann. When ever I came to his home to do work there, he always had a friendly smile and a warm hello. Over the years Mrs. Heimann and he met my wife and daughters. Whenever I came to their home, he would always ask for them. He always treated me with kindness and respect when there. I will miss him and he will be in my prayers.

John was a wonderful man who was very generous with his time and his knowledge. I was lucky to have the opportunity to bat ideas around with him as a journalist, an author, and a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, and I learned something every time we spoke. My condolences go out to his family.
