In honor of John as a kind and loving friend

My lasting friendship with John was secured when this Englishman spent six years in Cleveland from 1977 until 1983 sharing transatlantic interests and humour

Our deepest sympathies to Ellen and John´s family. We so enjoyed John and Ellen during many meals with friends. John was always sure to show great interest in the activities of others and humble about his own. Covid surely put a pause in those meals but as things return to normal, he will be sorely missed.

I will miss John. I loved how much he adored the arts and nature, second only to his love Ellen and of course his cats. John always tried to be creative with his gifts, truly thinking about each individual's interests. He showed that he cared. Above all John was a gentleman, kind, witty, and thoughtful, always trying to help others. Yes, I will miss him. Rest in peace John .

What a kind, caring, generous person. John and I enjoyed sharing our love of animals, especially cats and especially, Ellen. It was always a joy to see John at events and connect through Facebook. I really enjoyed the newsletter he sent out last Christmas. I regret not getting to spend more time with him.
