Not sure what to say?

I became friends with John during my Junior year at WYANDOTTE H.S. I was new to the area having moved from California and He myself and our friend Bob Sheriden shared many “adventures” together.

You came to me and visited a while on September 7, 2015 in a dream. So happy you thought of me and I can say you were so awesome. I have laughed and laughed about all our fun times and adventures. I miss you so much, until we see each other again! Love you!

happy birthday dad

My belated and sincerest condolences to the family of my long-time friend, John C. Helvey.
John and I became long time friends our freshman year at Bishop Ward High School.
John and I both transferred to Wyandotte High School but I later returned to Bishop Ward.

There were three of us, John, Bob Ratkey and myself. Bob Ratkey, unfortunately passed away in mid 60’s while in the military. He will be missed. I moved to California in late June of 1966. It was in 1988 or 89...

I just now heard of the loss of John. My sincere sympathy to his family and loved ones. John and I connected through one of his varied hobbies, our mutual interest in collecting and maintaining the history of U.S. Navy insignia.

My sincere condolences to the family of my long-time friend, John C. Helvey. He was an honest businessman and was always cheerful and really enjoyed his hobbies and shared that enthusiaism and was always quick to reply to his correspodence. I had no idea John was gone until a family member informed me, it was a shock as we had not heard from him since this past August 2009. God willing he is in Heaven. I am happy to have been a friend of John. God bless him. Respectfully yours, Herbert H....

John was one of a kind, hearty laugh, big smile and warm heart. I'll miss seeing him walking his dog through the neighborhood and honking his horn as he drives by my back yard. We'll all miss his stories. But may his stories bring his daughters comfort and may our prayers warm our heart. May the sun shine warmly on his memory!

A eulogy to John.....

I met a lot of Johns’ friends last night who have been friends with him for many years. Having known John for a comparatively shorter period of time, talking about him is really coming from my own perspective, but I’m sure even the oldest friends would agree with these words.

I think Johns most admirable trait was to connect with people. He had some many different interests, hobbies, and jobs over the course of his life he knows the sacrifices and...

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
