JOHN J. HENNESSY age 92; beloved husband of 68 years to Eileen (nee Corcoran); father of Jacqueline Greuloch (William), Michael (Carol), James (Linda), Robert, Sean (Rebecca) and Nora; dear friend of Judy Meinert; grandfather of 12, great-grandfather of 7; brother of Sr. Coletta Hennessy, O.S.F., William (Joanne) and the late Mary Dellinger, Margaret, Thomas and Eileen Antonelli; uncle and great- uncle of many. Mr. Hennessy was a proud graduate of St. Ignatius High School and a WWII Army veteran where he served in the signal corps in the Pacific Theatre and was a former Cleveland Firefighter. He was a longtime Ancient Order of Hibernian member and club historian, treasurer of the Cleveland Feis Society and American Legion Post 451, former Co-Chair of the 1994 Cleveland St. Patrick's Day Parade, a project learn volunteer and proud member of AFSCME. He belonged to the Holy Name Society at Ascension Church and St. Brendan Church. "Dad, you are already so missed. How blessed we all were to have you in our lives. With your deep religious faith and firm moral compass you have shown all of us how to be good citizens of this world and the next. Your love for us will help in filling the void and we will honor you by following your example." Passed away June 22, 2013. Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 26, St. Brendan Church (4242 Brendan Lane N. Olmsted) at 10 A.M. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME 4420 ROCKY RIVER DRIVE AT PURITAS TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Pam Metro informed me on June 27 when I saw her. I was not aware of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

So grateful to have a memory of chatting with Mr. Hennessy about the last book he read. What a smart guy!

I was very sad to hear about Mr. Hennessy. He was a wonderful man who touched many people. I always enjoyed seeing him and talking with him. He was a very special man. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole Hennessy family during this difficult time.
