Not sure what to say?

John was a man of indisputable integrity. I worked with him in the New York Division and for him in the Eastern Region. His rigorous honesty and good humor made him a pleasure to be around.
Rest in Peace, John.

The National Assn. of Retired Postal Inspectors extends its deepest sympathy to the family. John was a great man and a fine leader and was a true gentleman. He hired me out of Newark and I had the privilege of working with
him in NY. The NARPI community wants you to know we are all thinking and praying for his family.

I worked with John in the 1976-1983 years. He was a fine gentleman and a talented Inspector. He will be missed. The example he set in both his professional and his personal life serve as guides for us all.

JT was my senior as a Postal Inspector for perhaps a year or less. At a time when the term integrity was used a lot when referring to Inspectors, I came to realize John Herrmann lived up to the meaning as well as the spirit of the term. Rest in peace JT, in the loving arms of Christ. George Nedostup, Lewisburg, PA

John and I met in October 1954 at a resort in South Carolina, called Parris Island. We were boots (recruits) in the U.S. Marine Corps, assigned to the same platoon for 77 days of basic training, after which we went our separate ways. We met again 20 years later in Philadelphia where we were serving as Postal Inspectors. John was an excellent Marine, an excellent Postal Inspector, and a good person and friend. My condolences to his family.

Worked with and enjoyed John a lot over the years. Was always impressed with his commitment to his wife Bernie. Another of the really good guys passing and a loss to all.

John was a fine man and a joy to be around. I always admired how he cared for his wife. I worked with John in the Eastern Region and his dry humor always made the day enjoyable.

During October 1981 my wife Barbara and ZI took a cruise on the QE2 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Seated at our table was John Herrmann, his wife Bernadette (Bernie) and Bernard (Bernie) Berlin from Manhattan. We all enjoyed each other right away. Later we went on other cruises together and met s few times a year at interesting places including Las Vegas. John held very high management positions at the Posal Service. He headed up the Criminal Division and was later promoted to...
