John F. Hescock, 62, of 191 Teneriffe Mountain Road died suddenly Wednesday June 13,2007 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester NH.

He was born Nov. 16, 1944 in Rochester the son of the late John and Elisabeth (Putnam) Hescock. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester and graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1962 .He retired as a General Foreman at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard in Shop #56 after 27 years of loyal service. After retirement John owned and operated his own landscaping & light carpentry business for 15 years. He was a member of Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 . He attended Grace Baptist Church and Emmanuel Advent Christian Church. John was a dedicated volunteer EMT and Firefighter for the Milton Fire Dept for 20 years. . He was captain of the ambulance squad; a Milton Town Selectman and very active in all aspects of community affairs. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, however the time he cherished the most was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, for which he would do anything. John touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Members of his family include his wife of 42 years, Linda (Tompson) Hescock of Milton, NH; son, Jason Hescock and his wife Jill Marie of Bradenton, FL; daughter, Debbie Page and husband Richard of Milton, NH; grandchildren, Krystal, Amanda, Troy, Elizabeth, and Kaitlyn., brother, Bruce Hescock of Humiston, CT.; sister, Carolyn Johnson of Wayne, ME. and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may visit Saturday June 16, 2007 10-2 at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, Franklin Street, Rochester NH. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Milton Fire Dept. Ambulance, Attn. Andy Lucier. P.O. I was totally shocked the morning when mom called me and told me of John's passing... seems just like yesterday when he was there for us when dad passed, I know that this is a hard time for all of you and my heart goes out to you all. They say that time heals all wounds so I am still praying that is true!
