Raised on a small farm near Weatherford Texas, John enlisted in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1952, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea. To the Family of John Hickle please accept my sincerest condolences. I have just learnt, via the internet, of the passing of dear John. I first met John when I joined McDonnell Douglas in 1970. We worked together on the F15 design. He was a first rate Engineer. He was my colleague and my friend, we kept in touch over the years. I know he must be missed by all that knew him.
