Not sure what to say?

Today, John Allen's Celebration Of Life at the Guntersville Church Of The Epiphany brought family and friends from near and far. The large turnout was a fine tribute to Dr. Higg's legacy. We wish him peace and a well-deserved rest. - Cousin Bill Foster, for Jack, Steve, and Carmen, Knoxville, Tennessee.

I saw Higg a few years ago for a runner's heel problem, thinking he would give me a cortisone shot. Instead, he prescribed stretching exercises and Aleve, which fixed me up in about two weeks, and I haven't had a problem since. Huntsville will miss his fantastic Christmas displays! He was a very wise man, and he will be sorely missed. We will pray for Mary and all of Higg's family.

So sorry for your Loss. I did not know him. But I knew his father I use too clean his house when ever he would let me. I am pretty sure he was like his name sake so I know he was a good man.

I knew Higg as a close friend of a dear friend who passed away after a long battle with cancer. Betty had breast cancer which spread to her lungs and I spent many days and nights with her over her long struggle and was with her the night she passed. The afternoon before she passed Higg asked me to call him as her husband and son were staying at his and his wife's home. When she passed, I called and he came and pronounced her dead and kissed her on the cheek. He was a wonderful man...

Prayers for the family for comfort during this time. He gave our family and so many like us so much joy at Christmas for so many years. He will be missed very much.

John was a wonderful and caring physician and friend. Working emergency calls where Higg just showed up to help will always remain some of my most treasured memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dr. Higg was one of those people who treated those with whom he came in contact as he wanted to be treated: with love, respect, and caring. He was a special friend and physician to many people in this area, and he will certainly be missed. The world is a little less bright and cheerful without him, but the celebration in Heaven must be magnificent! Rest In Peace, my friend, and know the hole you left in many hearts and lives will never be filled this side of Heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Higginbotham was a very giving person and a wonderful surgeon and friend to all he met. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone around him feel at ease. He was very down to earth and a character. I loved working with him at Crestwood. He will missed.
