We were so saddened to hear of John's passing as we listened to the St. John's live streamed service yesterday. Dr. Tim McClendon shared this with us. You and John were very special to our family as you served St. John's in Aiken. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was with deep regret that I learned of the passing of John. He was my District Superintendent but more importantly a true friend. We came to know each other well and I found him to be a kind and decent man of great character.
I shall always remember the Sunday he served as guest preached at the church to which I was appointed. I'll also remember the knowledge he shared about ministry, life, and golf.

We feel privileged to call John our dear friend, family minister and brother in Christ. From our first boat trip with Chapin UMC friends, through your many years at Chapin UMC, oyster roasts, deep friendship, being at Haley's and our family's side throughout her heart surgery and praying over her for recovery and being with Drew and Jennifer at their wedding, we feel very honored to have had that relationship.

Dear Carrol,
My sympathy and prayers for your comfort..John was a great man and person. It"s been a long time since you and John visited us at IOP. John , myself and Sam Lewis had great times playing golf at Dunes West, then a special hotdog after. We had just reunited with John a month or so ago and hoped to see each other again next year. We will miss him always.

I was saddened to read Reverend Hipp's obituary.My mother ,Mrs Margie Frazier, served as church secretary at St Paul United Methodist Church in Saluda,S.C. during his years of service there and thought so much of him. I wanted to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you during this time
