Not sure what to say?

We lost contact with John after we left Rochester but always regretted not keeping in touch. He was a wonderful friend. We met at Goler House in the elevator. He was indeed brilliant, lovable, funny and kind. We have many good memories from our four years in Rochester. So sorry to hear this sad news and many regrets for not reaching you earlier.

Knowing John bettered my life. He was always positive, always funny, always productive, and often profound. I thoroughly enjoyed every last interaction with him. I am sad to know that he was taken too awful soon, but recall so many good times about optics, gratings, and Rochester.

DearJohn, I can not believe that I missed your passing. It has been a long time since we have seen each other: you, Denise, me and my husband Mark. As the kids came and grew , our lives did not intersect as much though I hoped we would reconnect again and continue our friendships and catch up on so much history and make more memories too. Please watch over us all here and keep us on the right paths. We, all your friends will be together again one day and all of us old friends will have...

Dear John's Family, I am very sorry to learn of John's passing.
I worked with John for almost 30 years and knew him as most friendly and helpful guy. I travel with John to St. Petersburg Russia and we had most productive and entertaining trip, we visited a Winter Palace and went to ballet performance at Kirov Ballet Theater.
John will be truly missed at Richardson Gratings.

Dearest Denise, Julie, Jonathan, Jack, Johanna, Grayson, Jonny, Dalton, Joel and Danielle,
I am so sorry to not be at your side at this trying time. Please know that I am with you in spirit. We are all saddened by this huge loss, yet so grateful to have had such a great man in our lives. I look forward to sitting around the dining room table as we share so many stories and memories that John/ your Dad has left us with. He definitely created a lot of memories for all of us. May you all...

To John's Family, I am very sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a most friendly and helpful guy. I helped him move his laboratory from Rome Airforce base when he first came to the U of R's Laser Lab around 1970. After filling the truck with equipment we retreated to his place on a lake for a cold one. Over the next 10 years or so his contributions in technology and humor combined to make coming to work a pleasure!

To John's family,

I am sorry about you loss. I was a colleague and a friend of John when he worked at the Laser Lab. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his perspective on life. I also did some consulting for him afterwards but lost track of him. I am sorry to hear the news.

Denise and Family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Keep your fond memories close to your heart.
