Mr. Hooten taught me Sunday School class at Gordon Street Christian Church. He was a great teacher and best remembered for his Peugeot and his Austin Healey that we 15-16 year olds checked out during class. My condolences to the family.

Esther, John, Mike and Robert: John was a very special friend. He represented the gold standard in friendship. He was a world class lawyer, and our profession has really missed him since he retired. I pray that you will receive comfort in your time of grief.

I was one of JR Hooten's boys, even though I lived in the house across the street. His impact on my life and that of my family cannot be measured, and we are saddened that he is no longer with us.
